Jaguar is getting out of the business of making sports cars, at least gasoline-powered ones. As the brand plans to transition to high-end EVs, Jag is celebrating its long history of sports cars by introducing the final edition of its most recent and last gas-powered sports car, the F-Type.

From the original and gorgeous E-Type to the legendary XJ220, and the F-Type’s 2013 introduction to the C-X75 that almost was, the automaker knows how to make a sports car. More than 87,000 have been made in the past 50 years. To celebrate this lineage, Jaguar is making a Final F-Type that will be preserved for posterity.

This last F-Type will be an F-Type convertible powered by the brand’s supercharged 5.0-liter V8, which will make it one of the last cars to ever receive the engine as Land Rover moves to using BMW V8s. The beautiful color combination is unique to this car. The exterior is painted in what Jaguar calls Giola Green, paired with a black roof and black wheels, while the interior is covered in Tan Windsor leather. Jaguar says this color combo is a nod to the final E-Type Series III Convertible that was made in 1974.

After making the rounds for various events and press tours, the car will make its way to the Jaguar Heritage Collection. There it will be stored and looked after by the custodian of the collection Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. While the F-Type will still be available to order through early 2025, the brand’s current sports car era will be over. That doesn’t mean the era of Jaguar performance is over, though. Jaguar plans to introduce a new four-door electric GT sometime next year.
