The first and second-generation models were sold here before. Globally, the X-Trail is offered in both five and seven-seat configurations but it’s still not sure which configuration will be sold here.

The X-Trail is based on Renault-Nissan’s CMF-C platform jointly developed by Nissan and Renault. Globally it’s offered with multiple powertrain options including a strong hybrid. However, India is only expected to get a single-engine option. It might get a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 204hp and 305Nm. It might get a CVT gearbox and AWD is expected too.
