Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been open about her Myositis diagnosis since 2022, frequently sharing health updates and management practices with her followers. Recently, she recommended nebulizing with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and distilled water for common viral infections, instead of taking unnecessary pills. This advice sparked concern among medical professionals, including Dr.Abby Philips, known as TheLiverDoc on social media.
TheLiverDoc criticized Samantha’s suggestion, calling it dangerous and unapproved by health authorities. In response, Samantha posted on Instagram, acknowledging the concerns but defending her intention to help others.
In a follow-up post on Saturday, TheLiverDoc apologized to Samantha but harshly criticized her doctors, Mitra Basu Chillar and Dr. Jockers, labeling them as “businessmen” and “frauds.” He accused them of promoting dubious treatments like ozone therapy and IV vitamin therapy, which he claims are ineffective and potentially harmful.

Philips, who had called out Samantha on Thursday and countered her post by sharing a link to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America’s study about the dangers of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation, responded to her statement and called her a “serial offender” in the context of healthcare misinformation.

“I expected better from someone who claims that she wants to improve. This is far from improvement. A rational and logical response would be to delete the public health endangering post and apologise to her millions of followers and vouch to never quote or cite fraudulent practices and practitioners,” he wrote on Twitter.

He said he won’t comment or debunk any of the actor’s “future endorsements” of such alternative healthcare advice.
