The first weekend of the movie was largely dominated by the World Cup Finals, hence, the collections were affected. However, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ managed to remain steady over the weekdays and now sees a good jump on Saturday.
According to Sacnilk, the movie collected Rs 34 crore on its day 10 which is Saturday.This collection is the total of all languages. With that, the film’s net collection so far in India is Rs 465 crores. As far as the Hindi collection of the movie is concerned, it is slowly inching towards Rs 200 crore and thus, it becomes the highest Hindi grosser of the year so far. It beats the numbers of ‘Fighter’ now with the Saturday numbers added in. The sunday collections up till afternoon were Rs 24 crore.
The growth is expected to be more on Sunday with the Sunday night and evening shows added in. The nett collections in all languages may be expected to cross Rs 500 crore with Sunday numbers coming in. One hopes it remains steady over the coming days. There’s no major competition that the film will face, till next Friday when Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Sarfira’ which is the Hindi remake of the hit, ‘Soorarai Pottru’ starring Suriya, releases.
