A popular wine is being recalled after an undeclared allergen was discovered,.

South Australian wine company Brand New Vintage’s Journeyman Shiraz 2021 is being recalled after the presence of the undeclared allergen sulphites was discovered.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), which is responsible for developing food standards for Australia and New Zealand, issued the recall due to a “food safety hazard”.

“Any consumers who have a sulphites allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” it said.

“Consumers who have a sulphites allergy or intolerance should not consume this product.”

Anyone who has purchased the wine is advised to return the product to its place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice,” the Food Standards authority said.

The wine was sold at Celebrations, Bottle O and independent retailers including IGA Liquor in NSW, QLD, VIC, SA and WA.
