India-bound Nissan X-Trail details revealed: Gets 1.5-litre, 3-cyl mild-hybrid petrol engine

Nissan India has finally revealed the details of the India-spec Nissan X-Trail SUV. The Nissan X-Trail was showcased in India alongside the Qashqai and Juke back in November 2022 and it will soon be launched in the Indian market. The new X-Trail will be bought to India via the CBU route and is expected to carry a price tag of more than Rs 40 lakh.

The X-Trail was discontinued back in 2014, the first and second-generation models were sold here.Finally, after 10 years, the SUV is making a comeback. When launched, the X-Trail will compete with Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and VW Tiguan.

The Nissan X-Trail is based on the Renault-Nissan’s CMF-C platform jointly developed by Nissan and Renault. The SUV has been on sale overseas since 2021 in 5- and 7-seater form, India will get the three-row version. In terms of design, it features a split LED headlight setup with a large grille. It’s expected to get 20-inch alloy wheels and will also feature LED taillights with integrated spoiler and diffuser.

Moving inside, the X-Trail will feature two-tone black and tan leatherette, with silver accents all around. Features will include a free-standing 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car tech, three-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a powered tailgate, heated powered front seats with memory function, a 10-speaker premium Bose surround sound system, panoramic sunroof, fully digital instrument cluster, HUD display, ADAS, 360-degree camera and more.
