The new Toyota Starlet Cross is offered in two main variants and a sole 1.5-litre NA Petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission.The compact SUV does not get a 1.2-litre NA petrol or a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine option. The price for the Starlet Cross starts from 299,900 South African Rand (about Rs 13.7 lakh at current exchange rates).
The Starlet Cross in Africa is available in two main variants – XS and XR. Features include a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heads-up display, wireless phone charging, auto AC, and push-button start/stop. In terms of safety, they get up to six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and rear parking sensors.
In terms of design, the Starlet Cross looks exactly the same as the Toyota Taisor, but the former gets two additional colour options over the Taisor – black and blue. A few Exter highlights include tripod LED headlights with DRLs, a honeycomb front grille with a chrome strip above connecting the LED DRLs, LED taillights, roof rails, 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, shark-fin antenna, silver rear scuff plate, chunky body cladding and much more. The overall cabin layout is same but here it gets black and brown theme.
