Aamir Khan has been one of the strongest pillars of Indian cinema, he was the one who kickstarted Rs 100 crore club, Rs 200 crore club and Rs 300 crore club with Ghajini, 3 Idiots and PK respectively. Back in the 90s, he was also one of the first actors to concentrate on just one film at a time and from there on till the 2014, the superstar has had at least one release every year, barring the gap he took post Lagaan and Dil Chahta Hai in 2001 for Mangal Pandey: The Rising.
But 2016 onwards, which was the year he delivered Dangal, Aamir has had only three big screen releases with one of them being a guest appearance in Secret Superstar. In 2018, he delivered Thugs Of Hindostan with Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif and the film bombed badly at the box office. He then went on a break to work on Laal Singh Chaddha, which was an official adaptation of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump. The film released in 2022 and failed to set the cash registers ringing at the box office, forcing Aamir to re-think about a lot of things when it came to his films, his legacy and his film choices. This is the first time he has given two back to back duds over the span of four years.
As per reports Aamir is concentrating heavily to establish his production houses as one of the most sought after one and for this he has roped in Aparna Purohit from Prime Video to lead the charge. He already has multiple films on the floor like Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta starrer, Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947, Vir Das’s directorial venture Happy Patel and Junaid Khan’s two films one with Sai Pallavi and another with Khushi Kapoor.
Now sources reveal that the perfectionist also has big plans for his acting career and he wants to get into it wholeheartedly.
