As Nikkhil Advani prepares for the release of his upcoming film ‘Vedaa’, the director opened up about his filmmaking process and his experiences working in the Bollywood film industry. However, it was his reason for not working often with superstar Salman Khan that has been raising eyebrows.
The director, during a promotional interview with The Lallantop, revealed that while he has worked with Khan in films like ‘Salaam-E-Ishq‘ and ‘Hero‘, he has not made more movies with him owing to the pressure of box office numbers.Advani candidly explained that the immense pressure associated with Khan’s films is something he avoids.
Speaking to the portal, he revealed, “Salman Khan’s films are expected to make Rs 300 crore. If his film collects less than Rs 300 crore, he feels really bad.”He went on to add that as he didn’t want to be burdened by the pressure of making a Rs 300 crore film, he often opts out of working with the star who he calls his “Messiah”.
“I want to sleep well at night. I do not want to carry the burden of making a Rs 300 crore film. I want to make films that I want to,” Advani shared.
The director further elaborated on his relationship with Khan, describing the actor as a reliable and supportive figure in his life who is always there ‘in case of emergency’. “I know he will leave everything and come. Even if he is doing the biggest action scene, if someone calls him, he will say, ‘I will go, this person is in trouble’,” he said.
On the work front, Salman will next be seen in the film ‘Sikander‘ which is slated to release on Eid 2025.
