Akshay Kumar‘s film ‘Khel Khel Mein‘ released in cinemas on Independence day and it saw a clash with ‘Stree 2‘ and ‘Vedaa‘. This film which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Ammy Virk, Vaani Kapoor, Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal, apart from Akshay, is targetted more towards the multiclass audience. Hence, it was meant to do business only in a certain bracket. It is facing huge competition from ‘Stree 2’ which is roaring at the box office, yet, the film managed to make Rs 5 crore on Independence Day holiday.
But post Independence day, on its first Friday, ‘Khel Khel Mein’ saw a huge drop. It made only Rs 1.9 crore on its second day, which is Friday, according to Sacnilk. The film’s total collection so far is Rs 6.95 crore. This drop came despite the fact that the film has garnered some good reviews. Even ‘Stree 2’ has seen a major drop in the business, however, it still managed to make Rs 30 crore on its second day. Now the Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao starrer is not in competition with these two movies, as it’s way ahead. Hence, now, it’s only ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’ competing with one another.

According to Box Office India, ‘Khel Khel Mein’ is bigger in multiplex chains but the rest of the parts, ‘Vedaa’ is better. But the trade highly feels that this clash could have been avoided as it would be better for all these films as all of them have got good reviews. While the collections have fallen on Day 2, the weekend numbers are expected to be better and Monday is also a holiday for Raksha Bandhan. So, this extended weekend will hopefully help all the three movies.
