John Abraham recently addressed the under-performance of his latest film, Vedaa, at the box office. Despite the film’s lackluster commercial success, Abraham expressed pride in the project. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, Vedaa faced stiff competition during its release on the Independence Day weekend, clashing with other major films.
In an interview, John acknowledged the film’s shortcomings but stood by its message and execution.He emphasized that while commercial success is important, the film’s heavy subject matter and the way it was presented were significant to him. He mentioned that the film’s cast and crew delivered strong performances and that every department, from cinematography to action, excelled.

The actor also reflected on the broader impact of the film, noting that it drew from real-life incidents of rape that had made national headlines. He reiterated his commitment to making commercially successful films but maintained that he was proud of Vedaa despite its box office performance.

Vedaa has earned around Rs 20 crore so far, adding to a series of box office disappointments for Abraham, with the exception of his role in the successful film Pathaan.
