A stolen car dumped in Gold Coast bushland has been graffitied with the words, “#JBK Jack Beasly (sic) Killers”, according to a social media post, sparking outrage.
Jack Beasley was a 17-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in Surfers Paradise during a night out with friends on December 13, 2019.
Two men — who cannot be identified because they were youths at the time of the offence — were jailed for killing Jack, while three other people were acquitted over the crime.

His death sparked a community safety campaign by his parents to take knives off the streets, resulting in the passing of Jack’s Law allowing Queensland police to use handheld metal detectors, a practice known as wanding, to search people for weapons in nightclub precincts.
On Sunday, a post on a Queensland crime Facebook page showed a silver Land Rover Discovery purportedly in bushland in Coomera.
A photo inside the car shows the reference to Jack written in gold pen on the car’s dashboard.
The car was stolen from Pimpama on August 19, a search of the police stolen car registry shows.
The car has not yet been located by police.
“We’ll certainly investigate and try and bring to justice whoever’s responsible for it,” Superintendent Peter Miles said.
“It’s extremely hurtful, not just for the Beasley family, but the wider community as well, and shows complete disrespect.
“The Beasleys are an amazing family. Their legacy of losing Jack and what they’ve been able to do since then has been unbelievable.
“This week alone, we’ve got NSW police coming up to speak to the Beasleys about introducing similar laws in NSW.”
