Aamir Khan was last seen in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha‘, post which he decided to take a break from acting. It was perhaps the film’s failure which upset him and a realisation dawned upon him that he hasn’t spent enough time with his kids and family. The actor recently revealed that he had almost quit acting but did not announce his retirement publicly as it would just create a lot of drama.
Aamir revealed recently on Rhea Chakraborty‘s podcast, that since he decided to quit acting, he called director RS Prasanna who is the director of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par‘ to his house. This was to tell him that he should look for another actor for the film. But before that, he sat down with his children Junaid and Ira Khan. However, his children stopped him from doing so by explaining things to him.
Daughter Ira drew a chart on a whiteboard about how Aamir will invest his time in the future since he wanted to give enough time to his family. Meanwhile, Junaid gave him the example of a pedulum and advised him to maintain a balance between work and family life. They told him to not quit acting. Thus on being pursued by his children, he took back his decision to quit acting and instead, just took a break.
He soon began shooting for ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ which has almost been wrapped up. Talking about it, he said, “Jab maine Sitaare Zameen Par shuru ki toh ki us mood mein kiya ki koi baat nahin…aur Sitaare abhi complete ho gayi hai. Sitaare mein bahot mazaa aaya kaam karke. Bahot kamaal ki film hai (Sitaare Zameen Par is now complete. I loved working on the film. It’s a great movie)”
Aamir also has decided to produce more movies so that more directors and newer talent also get more chances or platform to showcase themselves. ‘Laapataa Ladies’ was one such example.
