Ada Nicodemou, one of the longest-serving cast members of Home and Away, knows a thing or two about longevity in the industry. At the age of 16, she broke into acting, all thanks to the popular Channel 7 drama that she was a fan of before joining the cast herself. This year, Ada has been nominated for a Silver Logie for Most Popular Actress, which brings her back to the time when she landed her first acting gig. She reveals that she was watching Home and Away and saw a competition for a new character on the show. Although she didn’t get the role, it led to her getting an agent and eventually landing a role on Heartbreak High before returning to Home and Away. Ada is excited about her Logie nomination and shares her love for the Logies, as it is the only awards night for the Australian television industry. She remembers watching the Logies as a child and is thrilled to be nominated. Ada is up against two of her Home and Away cast mates, but she is happy for their recognition and the many nominations the show has received. Ada believes that there is no magic secret to her longevity in the industry, but she loves the people she works with and never gets bored on Home and Away because the show moves fast and offers different challenges. She also credits her great family life for keeping her grounded. With filming taking up 46 weeks of the year, Ada still manages to spend quality time with her son and take some extra time off during school holidays and Christmas.
