An unlivable three-bedroom home in Adelaide’s north emerged as the cheapest house to be auctioned in the whole country last week.
The advertisement for the home in Elizabeth Downs said that it needed significant work and warns potential buyers of asbestos cladding on the property’s exterior.
Pictures of the home’s interior show significant damage to the floors, walls and kitchen and bathroom area.

At $250,000 the home was the cheapest property sold at auction on the week ending July 15, according to Domain Real Estate.
However, a one-bedroom Melbourne apartment was not too far behind.
The ground floor apartment in Carnegie, about 35 minutes’ drive to Melbourne’s CBD, sold for $273,00.
The Elizabeth Downs property offers a decent amount of land, 640 square metres, with potential for the dilapidated house to be demolished for another project.
It’s also not too far from the CBD, about 40 minutes drive, with access to Northern Expressway making trips to the western and southern suburbs much faster and more convenient.
It’s also part of Adelaide’s growing northern suburbs, where there are several large-scale housing developments underway.
