It is going to be a Kamal Haasan domination month at the box office across the globe. He will first be seen as Supreme Yaskin in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD which has already amassed US $ 1.7 million for its premiere shows six days before its release. And now, time has come for his second release Indian 2 to take center stage.
Indian 2 is a sequel to Kamal Haasan’s 1997 superhit film Hindustani directed by Shankar; it is slated to release on 12th July.The advance booking for the film has opened in the United States of America from Thursday and has taken a good start.
As per Track BO, the film has, in one day, sold about 166 tickets from 288 shows for which booking has opened for its premiere shows. Tickets are currently open in 116 locations, and it has earned nearly US $ 4300 ( Rs 3.60 lakh). And as the release dates comes closer, more and more screens in 2D and even IMAX format will be increasing.
With Indian 2, veteran actor Kamal Haasan reprises his role of Senapathy, a freedom fighter turned vigilante fighting against the corruption in the country. The film also features Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Agarwal and many more. Post the shooting of the film, the makers decided to split part 2 into two parts, so the film has now turned into a trilogy. The music of the film is created by Aniruddh and the makers held a huge launch event for it at the start of the month.
