AFL locks in Round 19, 20 fixtures, Swans return to GMHBA, Richmond-Geelong gets Sunday slot

The AFL has locked in its Round 19 and 20 fixtures, which will see the Sydney Swans return to GMHBA Stadium, while the grand final rematch between Richmond and Geelong will miss out out on a primetime slot.

The Swans, who along with GWS are have been forced to relocate amid New South Wales’ COVID-19 outbreak, will host Fremantle in Round 19 at GMHBA Stadium, where they have won four of their last five matches at the venue.

Sydney earlier this month famously defeated West Coast by 92 points at the venue, which is Geelong’s home ground.

In other fixtures, Collingwood has been handed a Friday primetime match against Port Adelaide, with the Magpies to travel to Adelaide Oval to kick-off Round 19.

Meanwhile, Geelong and Richmond’s second grand final rematch of the season will occur on a Sunday afternoon at the MCG during Round 19. The reigning premiers will play consecutive Sunday matches as part of the revised fixture.
