After Years of Legal Battles, Mahindra Roxor Receives Clearance for Sale in the US

Mahindra’s Roxor off-roader has received clearance to be sold in the US with its updated design that was introduced after 2020, according to a regulatory filing. The Eastern District Court of Michigan declined to apply the “safe distance rule” as requested by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) in a recent order issued on July 19. As a result of this ruling, Mahindra Automotive North America, a subsidiary of the company, is free to produce, sell, and distribute the post-2020 Roxor in the US without any restraints. This comes after multiple lawsuits by FCA against Mahindra over its Jeep-like design since its US launch in 2018. Mahindra had made design tweaks to differentiate the Roxor as directed by court rulings. The Roxor is currently only available in the US and is assembled in Detroit.
