Like the case has been so far this season, Jack Miller launched his KTM perfectly as the lights went out at Silverstone and took the early lead from pole-sitter Marco Bezzecchi. Meanwhile, Bagnaia too had a remarkable start, moving forward and snatching P3 from Saturday’s Sprint winner Alex Marquez, and later securing P2 by making a daring move on Bezzecchi.
However, the two Italians quickly exchanged positions before, in an attempt to reclaim P1, the VR46 rider pushed hard and lost control and crashed out with 15 laps remaining.
Following Bezzecchi’s accident, Bagnaia faced pressure from Espargaro, who passed Marquez on lap five. However, the Gresini rider’s race ended shortly after due to a mechanical issue.

While there was intense battle up front with just half a second separating Bagnaia and Espargaro, it was Maverick Vinales constant charges that kept on testing Binder’s defence. As the gap kept on shrinking between the top four riders, Vinales finally, having overtaken Binder, made a lunge on Espargaro to secure P2. However, the Spaniard was quick to respond as he reclaimed the position shortly.
Vinales, who showed tremendous zeal to challenge Binder, eventually fell back as Miguel Oliviera, having started on P16, guided his Ducati ahead of him.
During lap 15 of the race, Marc Marquez of Honda unfortunately crashed into the back of Enea Bastianini’s Ducati, which means that the six-time premier class champion still hasn’t finished a Sunday race in 2023. Moments later, Bastianini had a separate fall at Stowe.
On the other hand, Quartararo showed some impressive performance, climbing as high as seventh after starting from the last position. However, on lap 18, a collision with Marini forced him to pit for his wet bike, dropping him down to 15th place.
Oliviera saw the chequered flag at P4, ahead of Vinales as title contender Jorge Martin could only manage P6. Luca Marini finished at P7 ahead of Miller as Zarco and Raul Fernandez rounded off the top 10.
Following the British GP, Bagnaia now leads the standings with a 41-point advantage over Martin, while Bezzecchi trails behind by 47 points.
