Talking about the same, Kher said that Mohit is his mother’s favourite actor. She loved him as Shiv ji. He even recalled the time when she would almost place a garland on the television screen, take off her shoes and watch him with a lot of shraddha.According to him, playing Shiv ji isn’t easy. It’s not just about putting blue makeup on. You also need to have that kind of calmness. His sincerity is very endearing, Anupam told News18.
He also went on to add that Raina played the part with a lot of earnestness and that reflected in his performance. According to him, sometimes you play characters and you don’t want to be constantly reminded of that because you think there’s much more to you. However, to be able to portray a character that’s larger-than-life and still have people believe you requires your mental state to be in tandem with your acting.
Anupam also revealed that it was he who reached out to Mohit for ‘The Freelancer’. Showering praises on the actor, Kher added that Mohit is very focused and aloof when he’s working. There’s so much to learn from him. According to him, he is fascinated by how he performed certain scenes in this show. Kher shared that he always learns a lot from young actors and newcomers. He feels that their approach is very different and that keeps him alive as an actor.
However, there is one thing Anupam was quite upset with Raina about. Kher revealed that Mohit didn’t tell him that he had a baby girl for five months. The veteran came to know about it very recently. In fact, the senior actor didn’t even know that he was married. According to Anupam, Mohit is so private that he should open a private detective agency and nobody will come to know of it.
