The new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have been selling like hotcakes, quite literally. Some who have their hands on the new iPhone 15 Pros have complained of them becoming uncomfortably warm during use. If you have faced such an issue with your iPhone 15 Pro or any of the iPhone models, Apple has an update for you.
Apple has released an update to fix the overheating issues that have been affecting its recent iPhones. The iOS 17.0.3 update resolves the issue that may cause the iPhone to run hotter than expected, in addition to the usual bug fixes and security updates.
“This update provides important bug fixes, security updates, and addresses an issue that may cause iPhone to run warmer than expected,” reads the changelog.
Those who have been facing heating issues with their iPhone 15 Pro models blamed the titanium frame for it, while some also suspected the new 3nm A17 Pro chip.
However, Apple denied these claims, stating that there seems to be a bug in the iOS 17 that could be causing iPhones to run warmer than usual. Apple further blamed some third-party apps, such as Instagram, Uber, and Asphalt 9, behind the heating issue on the new iPhones and said it is working with the developers to resolve the issue.
To update your iPhone’s software, you can manually check for the latest iOS version. Simply go to Settings, then General, select About, and finally, click on Software Update. If iOS 17.0.3 is available for your device (Apple releases updates gradually), you can immediately install it. This should help prevent your iPhone from overheating.
Apple notes that it is normal for the iPhones to run warmer than expected in the first few days after the fresh setup. But, it is highly advisable to install the update if you got a new iPhone 15 Pro model or even if you were facing heating issues on older iPhone models.
