Aprilia RS 457 vs Kawasaki Ninja 400: Price, specs comparison

The Aprilia RS 457 has finally been launched in the Indian market as the company’s entry-level motorcycle. While still a niche product, the made-in-India Aprilia RS 457 caters to the growing demand of accessible motorcycles from big bike manufacturers, and directly rivals the Kawasaki Ninja 400 in the country.

Engine specs
The ApriliaRS 457 is equipped with a 457 cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine producing 47 hp of power, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.Torque output is yet to be revealed.

Powering the Kawasaki Ninja 400 is a 399 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 44 hp of max power at 10,000 rpm and 37 Nm peak torque at 8,000 rpm, also mated to a 6-speed transmission.
Price
The Aprilia RS 457 is priced at Rs 4.10 lakh, while the Kawasaki Ninja 400 is available at a base price of Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom). This means that the Aprilia undercuts the Ninja 400 by Rs 1.14 lakh!

Kawasaki is currently offering a Rs 35,000 discount with the Ninja 400 till the end of this year, which would bring its price down marginally, however, still be higher than the RS 457.
