Aussie behind ‘quick and easy to use’ platform to connect tradies with customers: ‘Will be recommending it’

If you’ve ever completed a home reno or even a small building project, you’ll understand the difficulty of getting the tradies you need, when you need them.

It’s a problem 25-year old Jonty White recognised in his short stint as a tradie before a workplace accident took him out of the game.

At the beginning of 2022, in the last year of his apprenticeship, Jonty suffered an injury to areas of his thoracic and cervical spine and, unable to return to his apprenticeship, he chose a different path.

It was one that looked to solve the problem of connecting trades people and customers.

And at the end of 2023, One Click Tradies was born.

The idea is simple — providing a tradie directory and job-posting platform to make it easier for customers to find quality tradies in their area.

One Click Tradies addresses some of the issues Jonty found with other comparable websites he’d used, including comprehensive security measures and rigorous licence and ABN checks so customers can be sure they have the properly qualified person for their job.

The platform allows customers to easily hire local tradespeople by either searching through the tradie directory or posting jobs to be seen by local tradies.

Likewise, it provides tradies with an opportunity to connect with customers within their selected radius, letting tradespeople complete jobs locally or in whatever area they happen to be travelling through.

Already more than 1000 tradespeople and 750 customers are signed up and the feedback has been glowing.

One Click Tradies was quick and simple to use as well as professional,” said one happy customer.

“A well-designed system for finding the right tradesmen for the job at hand. Will be recommending One Click Tradies to friends and family.”

“A friend suggested this service and we had a plumber here by the afternoon. Not only did he do a quick job but the payment was really easy,” said another.

It’s free to sign up as a customer and the subscription fee for tradies is designed to be low. Credit: Supplied

Sign up for customers is free and One Click Tradies advertises its tradies subscription fee as being less than a cup of coffee per week.

Even better, you can currently use the code DAYONE50 for 50 per cent off your first subscription as a tradie.

“The Aussie construction industry suffers from a low trust between tradies and their customers,” Jonty tells 7Life.

“We look forward to helping to solve this problem by inserting more transparency and opportunity into the industry.

“While it’s never been easier for tradespeople to launch a business as well as finding workers, the work availability and support can be a roadblock which we intend to change.”
