Ashes 4th Test: Marnus Labuschagne Feels Australia Could Have Done More On Day 1
Marnus Labuschagne expressed disappointment at Australia’s performance in the first innings of the fourth Ashes Test. They finished day 1 with 299/8 and Labuschagne hopes they can still win the Ashes trophy. Labuschagne also mentioned that the presence of grass on the pitch made batting difficult.

In an interview with SEN, Labuschagne said, “We’re close to winning the urn, but we need to take it day by day.” He admitted that Australia missed opportunities to score big and convert starts into significant scores. Labuschagne added, “If we had capitalized on those starts, we could have reached close to 400 runs.”

Labuschagne believed that Australia did well on Day 1, but they didn’t capitalize on their good start. He mentioned that scoring 300 runs on a challenging pitch with a lot of grass was a commendable achievement.
Day 1 Of Fourth Ashes Test
England had the upper hand on the first day of the game. Chris Woakes took four wickets, including Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, and David Warner. Stuart Broad also became the second individual to achieve 600 test wickets. At the end of play, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc were on the crease.
