Shanghai is once again living up to its reputation as the “Magic City” with the International Automobile Industry Exhibition taking place this week. Over 1,000 exhibitors from 20 countries are dazzling the automotive world with the latest AI-powered cars and mobility solutions. The exhibition, in its 20th edition, features nearly 1,500 vehicles on display, showcasing the newest technologies and advancements in the industry. Many of these vehicles are powered by the NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion compute platform built on the DRIVE Orin system-on-chip (SoC), demonstrating the increasing use of AI in the automotive sector.
The exhibition features a range of NVIDIA-powered vehicles from various Chinese automakers. SAIC Motor’s Rising Auto brand unveiled its recently launched luxury electric sedan, the F7, and luxury electric SUV, the R7. Both vehicles are equipped with advanced intelligent-driving systems built on the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin platform. GAC AION showcased its flagship model, the Hyper GT, which boasts high-performance capabilities enabled by the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin SoC. XPENG exhibited its full range of models, including the ultra-smart coupe P7i and the super-fast-charging intelligent SUV G9, all powered by the high-performance DRIVE Orin compute architecture. IM Motors showcased its LS7 SUV and L7 sedan, both powered by NVIDIA DRIVE Orin and featuring advanced autonomous capabilities. Human Horizons unveiled its HiPhi Y SUV, equipped with an autonomous driving system powered by DRIVE Orin, and announced plans to expand its vehicles to select countries in Western Europe and Scandinavia.
Other automakers also showcased their NVIDIA-powered vehicles at the exhibition. NIO displayed its ES6 SUV, along with its other smart vehicles, all featuring NVIDIA DRIVE Orin SoCs to power their intelligent-driving systems. Li Auto exhibited its flagship models, including the L9, L8 Max, and L7 Max, all equipped with dual NVIDIA DRIVE Orin SoCs for advanced processing power. Volvo Cars unveiled its all-electric EX90 SUV, featuring the AI compute of NVIDIA DRIVE Orin and Xavier platforms. Lotus brought its electric Hyper-SUV Lotus Eletre, pure electric hypercar Evija, and internal combustion engine sports car Emira, all featuring NVIDIA DRIVE Orin for enhanced performance.
In addition to automakers, Tier-1 suppliers and emerging self-driving companies showcased their latest offerings at the exhibition. Desay SV presented its smart cockpit solution based on NVIDIA DRIVE Orin, offering new forms of in-vehicle infotainment. Baidu Apollo exhibited its level-2 driver-assisted product, Apollo City Driving Max, powered by NVIDIA DRIVE Orin for enhanced safety. Momenta launched Mpilot Pro, its advanced driver-assistance solution, featuring the energy-efficient DRIVE Orin.
Overall, the exhibition demonstrates the widespread adoption of NVIDIA’s DRIVE Orin platform in the automotive industry, showcasing the future of intelligent vehicles with advanced AI capabilities for improved safety, convenience, and enjoyment on the road.
