Bengaluru woman rider gets Rs 1.36 lakh fine: Honda Activa scooter seized

In a mind-blowing incident, a Bengaluru woman rider recently learned a pricey lesson after breaking traffic laws on a regular basis. Upon identification, the woman, who in her latest violation, was seen tripling on a scooter without even wearing helmets, was handed a hefty challan of Rs 1.36 lakh. To put this into perspective, it is significantly higher than the cost of her Honda Activa itself.
TV9 Kannada shared the images from CCTV footage on its YouTube channel. The rider had violated traffic rules a staggering 270 times. Her Activa scooter has also been impounded by authorities.
Reports indicate the violations included riding without a helmet, carrying a pillion rider without a helmet, riding on the wrong side of the road, using a mobile phone while riding, and even jumping traffic signals. These violations were captured by CCTV cameras installed across her usual route within the city.

The hefty fine amount imposed on the violation serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of reckless riding. This also brings to light the importance of CCTV monitoring which has been adopted by several metro cities to monitor the traffic situation and fining the violators with the help of digital means as opposed to traffic officials being present on roads to deal with the law breakers.
Besides that, one should always wear a helmet while riding any two-wheeler as it is an important gear to protect the riders from life-threatening injuries in case of any mishap.
On the other hand, for the offender, the hefty challan is still better than the risks that she was taking for herself and even for other motorists as breaking traffic laws could be fatal and add to the already concerning number of fatalities that take place every year on Indian roads.
