Out of the 5,867 units, BMW sold 5,476 cars while the rest 391 units were from MINI.
This helped BMW and MINI record a combined 5% year-on-year growth in the first half of this year, while the company’s two-wheeler arm registered a staggering 50% YoY growth as compared to the same period last year. The company claims that SAVs (Sports Activity Vehicles) contributed to 50% of its sales volumes out of 5,476 units.

The BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine was the best-selling sedan for the carmaker with a share of 20% in sales. Also, the recently launched new BMW X1 was the company’s best-selling model, contributing to over 20% of total sales. Moreover, the company registered 11 times higher sale of electric vehicles as compared to H1 2022.
BMW Group’s EV lineup in India currently consists of BMW i7, BMW iX, BMW i4 and MINI SE. BMW claims that it holds a 50% share in the BEV luxury car segment. The company’s higher-end models including 7-Series, i7, X7 and XM recorded a massive 128% growth in the first half of 2023. The iX is said to be the best-selling luxury electric car in the country in this period.
