Body of 44-year-old man found in Sydney suburb of Homebush West

The body of a 44-year-old man has been found outside a housing complex in Sydney’s west on Friday night.

NSW Police were called to Courallie Ave in Homebush West at about 8pm on Friday after reports a body was found in critical condition on the roadway.

The 44-year-old man had suffered extensive head injuries, and was treated by NSW paramedics, but died at the scene.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation found the man had been involved in an alleged hit-and-run.

Police executed a search warrant at a home on Fuller St, Chester Hill about 11.45am on Sunday, where a 37-year-old man was arrested.

“He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with manslaughter, dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous, fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death and larceny,” NSW Police said.

He was refused bail and is set to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Monday.
