Rhea Chakraborty who had been accused in the drugs case after Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death was not allowed to travel outside India as the case continues. However, the actress was required to travel for work to Dubai as she’s a brand ambassador of a pet food company. Hence, Rhea filed an application to seek permission.
The actress has to travel to Dubai from December 27, 2023 to January 2, 2024 and her application stated that she has to attend an event as a part of her work commitments.
The Bombay High Court has permitted Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was accused in the drugs case related to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, to travel abroad for work in relation to a pet food company for which she is a brand ambassador. Rhea has received permission to travel from December 27 to January 2, 2024.
CBI counsel, Shreeram Shirsat opposed Rhea’s plea and said that she should not be allowed to travel at this juncture when the investigation in Sushant’s death case has gained momentum. Shirsat also argued with the court that while Rhea is claiming to be the ambassador of this pet company, that’s not true. They’ve Kiara Advani as the brand ambassador. To this, Rhea’s counsel Abhinav Chandrachud clarified that a contract still existed between Rhea and this this company and hence, she’s invited to Dubai.
However, the vacation bench of Justices – Kamal Khata and Jitendra Jain at the Bombay High Court have granted permission and temporarily suspended the Lookout Circular (LOC). The HC has granted permission on the condition that she would deposit her parents’ passports with the court, till the time she’s travelling. She also has to provide her detailed itinerary of her visit along with her contant number in Dubai.
Sushant was found dead in his apartment in Bandra on June 14, 2020 and post that, a Special Investigation Team was formed in order to probe his dead and investigate after the actor’s father filed a complaint in Patna. Since then, his death still continues to remain a mystery.
