Hasan stated that this poll confirms that the race belongs to Trump and that he is in danger of losing it. The New York Times/Siena College poll, conducted from July 23-27 with a margin of error of 3.96 percentage points, shows Trump leading DeSantis by 37 percentage points and by 31 points in a head-to-head matchup. No other candidate garnered more than 3% support. Interestingly, the poll also demonstrates that Trump has a strong hold over the Republican Party, as most Republican voters are unaffected by the criminal charges against him. Only 17% of Republicans surveyed believed that Trump had committed a crime, and among “MAGA” Republicans, that number dropped to 0%.
