As for the engine specs, the newly-launched BSA Gold Star houses a liquid-cooled, 652 cc, single-cylinder engine in a DOHC, 4-valve configuration.Mated to a 5-speed gearbox, this powerplant belts out 45 hp and 55 Nm of peak torque.
On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is powered by a 648cc, air/oil-cooled parallel-twin motor that makes 47 hp and 52 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch.

Speaking of the features, the BSA Gold Star gets a twin-pod, semi-digital instrument cluster and a USB charging port. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks in front and a twin shock absorber unit on the rear. Stopping power comes from disc brakes on both wheels along with dual-channel ABS.
As for its rival, the Interceptor 650 is also a fairly simplistic roadster motorcycle and gets a twin-pod instrument cluster with a small digital screen with fuel, trip and odometer indicators. For suspension, RE has equipped the model with telescopic forks in front and twin shocks at the back. For braking, it gets disc brakes on both ends with dual channel ABS. The motorcycle, on paper, looks quite identical in terms of features and hardware.

The Gold Star is available in six colour options, with prices ranging from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.34 lakh. On the other hand, the Interceptor offers seven colour options with prices ranging from Rs 3.03 lakh and topping out at Rs 3.31 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
