There is a fantastic line-up ahead for July 5, 6 and 7 at American Express presents BST Hyde Park, so don’t let the Great British weather dampen your spirits.
Rain is forecast on all three days, with the heaviest set for Sunday, although it is currently expected to start just as Andrea Bocelli takes to the main Great Oak Stage on Friday night at 8pm. There is cover in the American Express cardholders section but the rest of the festival is open to the elements.
So, what kind of umbrellas, coats and bags can you take in with you? What about portable seats, or food and water bottles?
We have all the important rules and regulations below, along with a handy map to help you find everything. Remember, mobile phone coverage often fails at major public gatherings (and just outside the venue), so make plans about where to meet friends in advance.
The Great Oak Stage performance times on July 5:
It all kicks off with Matteo Bocelli’s solo slot from 5.10pm – 5.50pm, followed by Katherine Jenkins from 6.30pm – 7.20pm and then the headliner Andrea Bocelli with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from 8pm – 10 pm.
Please note that, unlike most main acts, Andrea Bocelli has a brief intermission from 8.35 – 9pm.
Can you take in umbrellas?
The BST rules state that no golf umbrellas or parasols are permitted. Since only very small bags (no bigger than a piece of A4 paper) are allowed, it’s recommended that you only carry a small umbrella. So, you also won’t be able to pack large waterproof clothes, unless you wear them as you go in.
CAN YOU BRING IN SEATS? No. Not even folding ones, anything inflatable or those clever ones you stick in the ground.
ARE BAGS ALLOWED? Yes, but only small ones – no bigger than 29 x 21 x 21cm. That’s around the size of a piece of A4 paper.
ARE FOOD AND DRINK ALLOWED? NO. Only sealed bottles of water up to 500ml or baby food in plastic containers. You can also bring an empty water bottle which can be refilled at stations around the festival grounds.
IS RE-ENTRY ALLOWED? No. If you leave you can not come back in.
NEAREST TUBE: Hyde Park Corner, but you can also use Marble Arch and enter BST through the North Entrance.
