After completing his military service in June, Jin has added another prestigious title to his name. Following his role as an Olympic torchbearer for South Korea at the 2024 Paris Olympics and his appointment as the global brand ambassador for Maison FRED, Jin was announced as Gucci’s global brand ambassador on Wednesday.
In a statement, Gucci’s creative director, Sabato De Sarno, praised Jin’s “warm and kind personality,” calling it “truly magnetic,” and highlighted his “unique style.” De Sarno added, “He is a generous and extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music, which makes us even more honoured to share this journey with him.”
Speculation about Jin’s association with Gucci had been circulating for months, sparked by Gucci sending gifts to Jin upon his military discharge.ARMY, BTS’s dedicated fanbase, shared pictures of these gifts on social media, fueling rumours of his potential ambassadorship.
Jin’s first project following his return from the military has been revealed. The singer will be making an appearance as a guest worker on MBC’s variety show Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island (It’s a Good Thing to Rest Well).
Jin has worn Gucci on numerous occasions and expressed his admiration for the brand. According to WWD, Jin described the brand as ‘iconic’ with “a long-standing heritage and modernity.” He said, “It is meaningful and thrilling to be a part of such a house.” Jin now joins a roster of celebrities associated with Gucci, including Alia Bhatt, Dakota Johnson, Hanni, Lee Jung Jae, Park Gyu Young, and Jay Park.

Having completed his mandatory military service, Jin is set to embark on new projects. His upcoming vlog series, “RUN JIN,” is scheduled to debut on August 13, 2024. Additionally, Jin will be releasing his solo album soon. He recently teased fans on Weverse, replying to a post about Jimin’s album “Muse” with, “Jimin, after you, it’s me. I am going to sing too.”
