It happens to the best of us. But you know what would fix you? Spending six figures on an incredibly rare kit car created by a small British company and then assembled in the States. Yes, if you want to truly be happy, you’re going to have to buy this 2006 Noble M400 that’s for sale on Cars & Bids.
Bidding is currently stalled at $55,000 at the time of writing, but with four days left on the auction, we have a feeling it won’t be anywhere near that cheap by the time things are said and done. After all, only 75 Noble M400s were ever built, making it legitimately rare and not “one of 100 built on that particular Tuesday in this specific color combination with a manual transmission” rare. Especially since there can’t be more than a handful in America.
While you might expect a boutique supercar to use a V8, the M400 actually uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that was borrowed from Ford. Stock, it made 425 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque, but this particular car has been modified and now makes 493 hp and 467 lb-ft. Back in 2007, Car and Driver tested an M400 with a manual transmission that hit 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. So with the extra power, you can expect this car to be even quicker.
Hopefully, you’ve got some driving skills, or at the very least a healthy dose of restraint, because the car basically doesn’t have any safety features. If you mess up, it’s all on you. Some might call driving a car without modern safety features “reckless” or “a terrible decision,” but how else are you supposed to feel alive?
Besides, it already has air conditioning. How much more pampering do you really need? Just buy the Noble. You know you want to. Your younger self would be so disappointed in you if they found out you had the opportunity to own an M400 and passed on the opportunity. And you don’t want to disappoint your teenage self, do you?
