FANS of the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks gathered at the Mansion Sports Bar and Lounge to witness the National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals Game 3.
They collectively cheered and raised their fists with joy whenever their favored team scored. Tensions arose during the third quarter when the score gap widened with the Celtics outscoring the Mavericks at 85-70.
The final quarter of the game became more intense, as the Mavericks seemingly caught up with the gap and everyone eagerly anticipated who would clinch the win.
In the end, the Celtics triumphed over the Mavericks with a 106-99 score respectively.
Nevertheless, the participants had a blast, sharing the moment and getting the opportunity to support their teams with like-minded friends and sports fans.
Prizes from NBA Philippines were also given to select attendees, who won parlor games.
Father-and-son duo Ruben and Matteo Lanot shared they had an amazing experience watching the game together.
The elder Lanot said: “The thrill with the other fans — both for Boston and Dallas — uplifted the experience especially when the scores were close already.”
“I feel happy because [the] Celtics haven’t won for more than a decade. So, it’s good we’re closing in on the title,” long-time Celtics fan Joew Villar said.
“It’s more fun watching the game at the watch party because at home, we’re just quiet. Here, we can shout [and] even curse if we want to, and there’s food and beverages too,” Villar added.
The watch party was a collective effort, organized by Cignal, vivo and NBA Philippines. Recently, vivo launched the V30e, the new addition to its flagship V series.
Assistant Brand Marketing Manager Glenn Chiu said the vivo V30e was more accessible than the other models in the series such as the V30 pro Pro and V30. Its technology was also upgraded, compared to the phones in the entry-level Y series, which made it an perfect entry-level affordable midrange phone for the V series.
The V30e’s Aura Light 3.0 Technology was also structured differently but functioned efficiently in dimly lit spaces. The video capture system features of the camera translated to truer colors, making it more vivid than other competitors.
Aside from the camera and the Aura Light 3.0, the vivo V30e has 5500 mAhmilliampere-hour all-day battery and IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
“We’re very excited to see how people would accept this and see the usefulness in using it in their daily lives. It’s more compact and can be used for longer periods of time. Hopefully, it will also help them in watching their sports and videos in longer periods of time,” Chiu said.
Chiu added that vivo continued to innovate and improve its technology, and more new phone models were to be expected in the remaining months of 2024.
Mae Dichupa, NBA Philippines marketing partnerships lead, emphasized the importance of its partnership with vivo and Cignal because it allowed them to connect to various people.
“In the Philippines, smartphone telecommunication is very high. We are looking for more channels and touchpoints to reach our fans, and basically, everybody has a smartphone. Vivo is one of the top brands in the Philippines, and so, it’s really been an advantage for us, and we’re proud to be partners,” Dichupa said.
“We’re very excited to partake in this collaboration as well, as we’re able to invite a lot of our friends and also our smartphone users, who are into the basketball space. We’re able to give back to them and share to them how being with vivo can be an essential partner of their avid fanbase,” Chiu said.
Cignal Channel and Marketing Content Supervisor Joshua Buenaventura said they always supported NBA Philippines and vivo, making it the perfect opportunity to bring back the watch party from last year.
“We’re always looking forward to having as [many] watch parties as we can — not just with the NBA — because we have fixed watch parties for the NBA such as on its opening weekend, all- star weekend and the finals. We’re looking forward to more watch parties whether it’s the NBA or other partners,” Buenaventura said.
“It’s fun to bring people to these kinds of sports events not just in basketball, but also volleyball soon in the coming months or in the next year,” Buenaventura added.
