Cindy Crawford Recaptures the Magic of the Iconic Pepsi Super Bowl Ad

Cindy Crawford is making a nostalgic appearance in a music video, bringing back memories from over three decades ago. In the remix video for That Chick Angel’s “One Margarita (Margarita Song),” Crawford recreates her iconic Pepsi commercial from the 1992 Super Bowl. In the original ad, she grabbed a Pepsi from a vending machine at a gas station while two boys watched. Now, in the remix video, Crawford wears the same white tank top and blue denim bottoms as she did 31 years ago. This time, she visits a south-of-the-border cantina to enjoy a margarita, with Casamigos tequila (co-founded by her husband, Rande Gerber and George Clooney) prominently displayed at the bar. The “One Margarita” remix was recorded by That Chick Angel, also known as Angel Laketa Moore, and features rapper Saucy Santana. The original version of the song gained global attention for its explicit lyrics and has been streamed over 10 million times. It has become a viral hit on TikTok as well, with over 60,000 videos featuring the song, including posts by Lizzo and Janelle Monáe. Moore drew inspiration for the song from a sermon by the Christian evangelist Cynthia Smock, also known as Sister Cindy on TikTok, who is known for expressing anti-LGBTQ views. Moore explained that while she didn’t mean to make fun of Sister Cindy, she found the sermon’s message of shame around sexuality personally significant. She believes that as long as consent is present, people should feel free to express their sexual preferences openly and even sing about them.
