A senior member of a WA bikie gang has been taken into custody after a shootout in the Perth suburb of Mindarie on Tuesday night.

The shooting unfolded around 7.45pm at Mindarie Marina, where armed men fired several shots at each other near the boat ramp car park.

No-one was reported injured.

One of the men involved, believed by police to be with the Comanchero gang, was driving an orange Mustang.

He was involved in a police chase at around 1.35am Wednesday.

Police had to abandon the pursuit, but the car crashed into a wall shortly after on Archer Street in Pearsall.

Drops of blood were left behind on the pavement and on the wall of a nearby property.

The man was found later on Wednesday morning and arrested.

Another man believed to be involved in the shootout was driving a white utility and is still at large.

“I’m very concerned that someone who has the propensity to use a firearm is again in our community,” Assistant Commissioner Brad Royce said on Wednesday.

“Once again, we find ourselves in a position where they’re coming into our community and using firearms.

“So our officers will be heavily armed and we’ll be going out and we’ll be knocking down some doors.”

It is not yet known if a rival gang was involved in the Mindarie shootout.
