Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon starrer Crew, directed by Rajesh Krishnan and duly supported by Diljit Dosnajh and Kapil Sharma entered its fourth week on a very positive note. The film in its three week run had already minted about Rs 71.85 crore and with no big film releases, it was expected to continue its smooth run and cross the Rs 75 crore mark. But the film just fell short of the milestone.
The film on Friday earned about Rs 55 lakh, which was exactly what it collected on Thursday. But on Saturday, Crew saw a massive 78 percent jump to collect Rs 98 lakh and on Sunday it jumped by more 35 percent to collect Rs 1.33 crore, taking its fourth weekend total to Rs 2.86 crore. The total collection of Crew now stands at Rs 74.71 crore, falling short of the 75 crore by a minor difference. But the film is expected to cross that number in the next few days.
Crew is not only holding strong in India but also in the North America circuit; one of the biggest overseas markets for Indian films. The film has till now minted US $ 3308364 (Rs 27.6 crore) and has potential for more.
The film is currently competing with newer films like LSD 2 and Do Aur Do Pyaar at the box office.
The success of Crew has emerged as another triumph for Kriti Sanon, as it marks her second hit of the year. Her first film, Tere Baaton Mein Uljaha Jiya, earned about Rs 85 crore.
