Washington Freedom, MI New York, Seattle Orcas and Texas Super Kings are the four teams to have booked the playoff berth after six teams battled in the league stage.
Get ready for an exhilarating playoff doubleheader with two action-packed matches. The excitement begins at 2AM IST on Friday, as the Washington Freedom will be up against MI New York in the first match-up.
The Washington Freedom secured the third seed, while MI New York held the fourth seed. This match is classified as an “Eliminator” game, where the losing team exits the competition, and the victorious team advances to the “Challenger” match on Friday.
The winner of the “Challenger” match will then progress to the championship final scheduled for Sunday. So, there’s everything to play for as the teams battle it out for a chance at the coveted championship title.
After the Eliminator match, the second-seeded Texas Super Kings will take the field against the top-seeded Seattle Orcas at 6AM IST on Friday morning in the “Qualifier” match.
The hometown team, led by South African superstar Faf du Plessis, will face a tough challenge from the Orcas, who won four out of five games in the round-robin stage, highlighted by Heinrich Klaasen smashing the first century in MLC history in a thrilling victory over MI New York.
The winner of the Qualifier match advances directly to the final on Monday, while the loser receives one more shot to advance by taking part in Saturday’s Challenger match.
