Currently, he is down with a fever, a classic symptom of dengue fever.
Dengue cases are prevalent in the country right now. Also known as break-bone fever, it takes 1-2 weeks to recover from dengue. While in many cases, it is asymptomatic, in cases where it is symptomatic, the most common symptoms are high fever, headache, body aches, nausea, and rash. Dengue signs appear 4-10 days after the infection.
The recovery time for dengue is important. Many people take a longer time to get back to their regular routine depending on the intensity of the symptoms they had during the infection. Post-infection fatigue is commonly seen in individuals who get infected with engue. This is a feeling of persistent weakness which affects the physical work. Proper food and rest helps in recovery.
“Let’s not jump the gun. If it’s normal viral fever, he could play on antibiotics but it’s completely the medical team’s call,” the source told PTI.
