Dark Matter Raxial Flux 6-phase E-motor
The design of the Dark Matter Raxial Flux 6-phase E-motor resembles something out of a weapons system or a science fiction movie. The motor unit has a camouflage-style black and white pattern and is finished with a black metal brace that stretches across the unit. In the Gemera, the Dark Matter E-motor provides power to all four wheels and features electric torque vectoring on each axle. The term “raxial” in the motor’s name refers to its combination of radial and axial elements. The motor reportedly has a maximum speed of 8,500 rpm.
Koenigsegg Gemera hypercar
To showcase the advancement represented by Dark Matter for Koenigsegg, the pre-production Gemera hypercar featured three different electric motors, which have now been replaced by a single Dark Matter motor in the production version. The E-motor is paired with a 2.0-litre, three-cylinder, twin-turbo engine and together they produce a combined 1,400 hp in the Gemera. Additionally, the Koenigsegg Gemera is also available in an HV8 version with a V8 engine that generates a combined 2,300 hp. The compact size of the Dark Matter E-motor allowed Koenigsegg engineers to accommodate the larger V8 engine.
