On the other hand, DeSantis recently held a fundraiser in the Hamptons, but the money he raised was significantly less than what Scott was able to raise in the second quarter. Some donors who were previously supporting DeSantis have now shifted their support to Scott due to disagreements on issues such as abortion and the war in Ukraine. There are also rumors that wealthy donors such as Ronald Lauder and Paul Singer are considering supporting Scott. Additionally, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin is also gaining support from donors and recently met with political financiers and leaders in Aspen.
