He died in the arms of his wife, Brooke Robinson.
“I’m shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of David Robinson, my right-hand man of many years. Until we meet again, brother,” Chapman said in a tribute to TMZ.
Sources told the publication David may have suffered a heart attack or stroke, although his cause of death is yet to be determined.
His wife, however, denied this as she shared emotional details of his last moments.
“David was very healthy and was on a work call in our dining room at home when he collapsed,” she told TMZ.
“Life-saving manoeuvres were attempted and paramedics were called.
“David died in my arms.
“We ask again for time and space to grieve for the husband, father, brother and friend that was lost.
“The rumours of a heart attack and stroke have already been ruled out,” she added.
Fans reacted with sadness to the news.
“That show is amazing, sad to see him pass on,” one tweeted.
