In terms of design, the supermoto resembles its larger sibling, the Hypermotard 950 featuring a high-set, beak-like fender in the front, a wide handlebar, a single-piece long seat and a couple of high-set pair of mufflers under the rear fender.

At its heart, the Hypermotard 698 Mono features a 659cc, liquid-cooled Superquadro Mono engine that generates 77.5 bhp and 63 Nm of peak torque. With the addition of an optional Termignoni race exhaust, the output increases to 84.5 bhp and 67 Nm of torque, making it the world’s most powerful single-cylinder engine. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox through a slip-and-assist clutch. Additionally, customers have the option to equip their bikes with a quickshifter. It gets three power modes and four riding modes.
This model features a steel trellis frame supported by an adjustable Marzocchi USD fork at the front and a Sachs monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are managed by a 330 mm disc at the front and a 245 mm disc at the rear. Speaking of the features, the Hypermotard 698 Mono is equipped with a 3.8-inch digital instrument cluster and rider assistance systems such as cornering ABS, traction control, and wheelie control.
