In the report, it was revealed that the one-year-old pandas ignored their birthday cake and party, choosing to play with empty cardboard boxes instead.
“A pair of precocious panda twins celebrated their first birthday in China,” Bartholomew revealed.
“Now, parents of toddlers will relate to this one. The two tots showed no interest in eating their cake preferring to demolish it instead.
“Then it was a game of chase the zookeeper at one point.
“Like most one-year-olds who are given a present, it was the boxes that held the most appeal.
“I mean, you try and organise something nice and look at what happens!”
The presenter then revealed how it was a similar story with her daughter, Molly.
“I remember when Molly turned two, I gave her some presents – but I also just gave her a box, a bunch of boxes wrapped up,” she explained.
“It was a huge hit!”
Sunrise host Matt Shirvington agreed that it was a “perfect” gift for a toddler, adding: “It works, doesn’t it?”
Nat Barr then asked what happened to the actual gifts little Molly received.
“Did you take the presents back?” she joked.
Bartholomew responded that she “probably should have got a return!”
