On Monday evening, Lauder and photographer Mason Lane hosted an intimate summer soiree to celebrate Rose de Grasse Pour Filles fragrance, a lighter interpretation of the decadent premier Rose De Grasse scent.
Guests entered the foyer and were immediately greeted by the sweet scent and flutes of bubbly pink bellinis. Inside the dining room, guests marveled at the dreamy mural adorned with whimsical elements of nature. Lauder’s favorite feature? The little bird characters scattered across the painting; “The birds are featured in pairs, and it feels like a painting all about friendship. They’re so cute!” she shares. A magnificent floor-to-ceiling window wall capturing the full-scale magic of Central Park brought the outside in. Lauder shared details of the historic apartment, which was once owned by C. Douglas Dillon and still boasts natural design and structural elements. As grandiose as the space is in opulence and size, the home emits a cozy feeling of intimacy and playfulness. (The butler’s pantry features original paintings of monkey caricatures wearing tuxedos pouring each other cocktails!)
Lauder’s impeccable eye for design recognized Mason Lane’s eye for photography back in 2017.
“For the Rose De Grasse Pour Filles campaign, Aerin wanted to capture the youthful essence of the fragrance, so she asked me if I would shoot the campaign,” says Lane. Calling upon her closest friends to model, Lane captured images depicting the realness of life as a young woman. A self-shot mirror portrait campaign image features the fragrance perched on Lane’s lap and a wrist full of colorful beaded bracelets—a playful homage to the perfume’s target audience. Friendships flourished at the fete, with guests Bianca Brandolini, Carys Douglas, Brent Neale, Madeline O’Malley, and others celebrating the powerful creative duo.
The dinner table burst with luscious geraniums and hot pink peonies; practically a full flower garden centered the dinner scene. Pink calligraphy menus and iconic AERIN dinnerware set the table with the finishing touch of an elegant bottle of the featured fragrance tied with a sweet bow atop each nametag. Guests enjoyed heirloom tomatoes with Bufala mozzarella, perfectly tender sirloin steak, and an on-theme pink dessert of frozen strawberry mousse. Casual conversation spanned from the girls’ last year of college feelings to guests showing their party tricks—O’Malley inspired with a French hairpin twist while Sadie Skibeli shared her excitement of finally learning what TriBeCa stands for.
Spritzing their new perfumes on their way out, guests filled the foyer with the sweet smell of rose and orange flower, freesia bergamot and pear. The scent lingered on long after guests left.
