The company has been hiring people for its factory in Chennai. To add more fuel to the anticipation around its comeback, the company also filed patents for the design of their new Endeavour SUV recently, which will carry a ‘Everest’ moniker this time around.

Speaking of the powertrain options, if the vehicle does hit the Indian streets, it is likely going to come with petrol and diesel engine options. At the time Ford shut its operations in India, the company had no midsize SUVs on offer, so it is possible that a new engine will be developed for this model.
Ford: Market re-entry
Ford’s decision to pull out of India in 2021 came as a shock to many. However, the company maintained a commitment to the Indian market by continuing after-sales support and importing niche vehicles like the Mustang. The American auto giant had been in talks with the JSW group to sell its Chennai plant but took a U-turn and decided to put those plans on hold indefinitely.
Ford has also trademarked the name “Mustang Mach-E” in India. This suggests that they might bring their electric crossover to compete with other premium electric vehicles like the Mercedes EQE, BMW iX, and the Audi Q8 e-tron.
