It may be the weekend, but that hasn’t stopped Epic Games from releasing a brand new update for Fortnite Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Creative, Rocket Racing and Festival. Fortnite update 30.20 will bring the hotly-anticipated OG Reload mode to the game, complete with all of your favourite locations from Chapter 1 of Battle Royale. Coming to PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android and PC, update 30.20 will be available to download on the morning of Saturday, June 22. As a numbered update with a new game mode on the way, the download will be accompanied by period of extended server downtime, which means you won’t be able to play Fortnite for at least a few hours. You can check out the Fortnite update 30.20 server maintenance schedule below.

The news was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside a preview of what fans can expect from the update.

“Downtime for v30.20 begins at 1 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand,” reads an Epic tweet.

For UK fans, this means that Fortnite will be taken offline in full at 6am BST, while matchmaking will be disabled at 5.30am UK time.

Epic hasn’t revealed exactly when downtime will come to an end, but maintenance typically lasts for around a couple of hours, although the addition of a new game mode might make it last a little longer.

This means Fortnite should be back online by 10am BST UK time at the latest.

Because of server downtime, Epic Games has also delayed the start of various tournaments, which is explained below.

“Due to the downtime, we’ve made the following tournament schedule changes: Earlier start times for OCE and Asia Ranked Cups & Ranked Cup Solo Zero Build. Delayed OCE FNCS Major 3 Open Qualifier 2 start time by one hour.”

Ahead of the release of Fortnite OG Reload, Epic Games will release a new trailer fully outlining the new game mode.

You can watch the trailer above, although it won’t actually go live until 5am BST UK time on the morning of June 22.

What we do know about Fortnite Reload is that it will bring back locations such as Tilted Towers, Pleasant Park, Retail Row, Lil’ Loot Lake, Sandy Sheets and Lazy Laps.

The update is also expected to add Magneto to the Battle Pass, as well as Pirates of the Caribbean skins to the item shop.

Epic Games will likely lay the foundations for the next summer event, which should take place in the coming weeks.

Expect new summer-themed items, challenges, rewards and skins, which Daily Express will keep you updated on during downtime.
