Macey was born on Wednesday and weighed in at a healthy 4.6kg with Cameron commenting, “My perfect girls” on social media.

Their social media post was flooded with comments from a host of teammates, including stars Patrick Dangerfield, Tom Stewart, Mitch Duncan, Rhys Stanley and others.

Former Geelong captain Joel Selwood also passed on his congratulations, as did ex-Giants teammates Phil Davis and Brett Deledio.

Cameron, who celebrated his own birthday on Saturday (April 1), had previously said he would miss an AFL match to be at his partner’s birth, but was spared of making that decision.

And while he didn’t fly with his teammates to Gold Coast on Friday, Cameron is set to take his place in the side for Sunday’s clash against the Suns after flying out on Saturday evening.

“What a birthday 💙 Congratulations to Jezza and Indi on the arrival of baby Macey! 👶 #OneInHoops,” the club said on Twitter.

The pair first shared their pregnancy news in the same week Geelong won last year’s premiership.

When it looked likely that Cameron’s birth was going to clash with Round 1, Tom Hawkins gave his partner in crime some friendly advice.

“We had our second child on the Wednesday before a Friday night Round 1 (game) and I still played,” he said at the start of February with a sly grin.

“But (I appreciate) circumstances are different in different families.”

After kicking 65 goals in the Cats’ premiership year in 2022, Cameron has begun this season in electric fashion.

He kicked two goals in Round 1 before adding six against Carlton last week.

But despite the heroic performances, the Cats are still without a win in 2023.
