Google Docs Introduces the Linkable Headlines Feature in Its Latest Update

Google has announced that it is rolling out a new linkable headlines feature in Google Docs. This feature will allow users to create links to specific headings in their documents, making it easier to share and navigate long documents. “To improve shareability of documents, especially longer ones, we’re adding the ability to copy links to headings in Google Docs,” Google said in a blog post. Simply, open a Google Doc on web > add a heading (type some content and set to “Heading 1”) > right-click the heading > click the “Copy heading link” button > paste the contents.

Availability
The linkable headlines feature is currently rolling out to select users, and should be available to all users in the coming weeks. The feature will be available to Google Workspace customers, including Essentials, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Essentials Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, the Teaching and Learning Upgrade, and Nonprofits customers.Q
Copying HTML elements now available on iOS
Google also announced that the ability to paste copied HTML elements into a document is now available on iOS devices. The company also mentioned that it has added the ability to empty the entire trash folder of a shared drive in Google Drive. This will make it easier for users to manage shared drive files, eliminating the manual effort of removing items in the trash folder. Google also noted that files and folders in Trash are deleted forever after 30 days.
